The inclusions that are a huge part of the Amber appearance and the history of the stone has fascinated scientists for so many years. As the resin hardens tiny insects and plant debris are trapped inside the gemstone offering a window into life millions of years ago. These markings vary considerably making the stones look different yet instantly recognisable as Amber. Over the many years of working with Amber, it’s incredible to have a close up view of these small creatures frozen in time.

We can also help if you’re unsure if you’ve acquired a copycat or not whilst hunting on the beach or buying a piece of Amber from else where. There are tests that you can do at home but if you’re still uncertain we have many years of experience and know the much loved gem extremely well.
